Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV)
Survivors Rescue and Resettlement

In 2025, KIJED provided rescue, protection, and resettlement support to four adult survivors of sexual and gender based violence, alongside six infants who were directly affected. The intervention focused on ensuring immediate safety, access to temporary shelter, basic welfare support, and psychosocial care. Each survivor was treated with dignity and confidentiality, with attention given to both physical wellbeing and emotional recovery, while the infants received essential care, nutrition support, and a safe environment.
Following the rescue, KIJED facilitated resettlement and reintegration support tailored to each survivor’s needs. This included counselling referrals, livelihood guidance, and linkages to community-based support systems to promote stability and independence. By the end of the reporting period, all four survivors and their six infants were resettled in safer conditions and connected to ongoing support pathways. The 2025 outcomes reflect KIJED’s continued commitment to restoring hope, protecting vulnerable lives, and supporting long term recovery for survivors and their children.
“Before KIJED stepped in, I felt invisible and unsafe, carrying pain that I did not know how to explain. The rescue came at a moment when I had almost given up hope. I was taken out of harm, given immediate care, and surrounded by people who listened without judgment. For the first time in a long while, I felt protected, believed, and reminded that what happened to me did not define my worth.
Through the resettlement process, KIJED helped me rebuild my life step by step. I received counselling, basic support, and guidance toward a safer and more stable future. Today, I am healing, learning to trust again, and beginning to dream of a life filled with purpose. KIJED did not just rescue me; they gave me a second chance, dignity, and the strength to move forward.”
